Hello, I happen to own 2 MC8000 and a Scan N Sew with an extra blank
Scan N Sew card. I would like to purchase a software that I can
download embroidery designs and then convert them to my MC8000, I am
very new to this, and haven't a clue what to purchase or what format
my MC is, I've read some have different formats and not sure what the
8000 is. With that said, what if I were able to take the Scan N Sew
and build it into a computer where I can download from a site and some
sites have their own software that you need to use, then convert that
file to read on the Scan N Sew format or would I need to purchase a
converter box of some sort to do this> I don't wish to purchase more
cards besides a blank one that I can load up designs on, but no more
embroidery cards just so I can copy them to a different format. The
downloading has it's ups and downs that I can read here, but can
someone lead me into the direction that I seek, and this is more for
family, hobby and not business. TIA

(this could be a second post, sorry)

Hello Olivia,
I don't have a machine like yours but I may be able to point you in the
right direction. I think the format for your machine is .jef and Embird
software might be the answer for you. Click on the link below and that will
give you some information that's worth reading. I use Embird for many
things so it is quite versatile. If you want to digitize that is an extra
program in Embird that you would have to pay for. You can download designs
in any format and convert them to jef. Here is the link:

I used to own a Janome 8000 a few years ago (or a Pfaff and Brother machines
ago) and I think you will need something like the Easy Writer to do what you
have in mind.
Mine would only take purchased Janome card designs.

With the Scan N Sew you can only use simple designs like these

From memory the format for the 8000 is SEW
